Internet Poker vs. Video Games

I am prejudiced against this, so weigh that when you read this. But bear in mind that I've played damn near 600,000 hands. In general and PokerStars in particular the the free money tables seem to play out like a badly programmed video game. Otherwise I have no explanation on why I can go from 400k to starting over with the minimum and slowly building and then finally when I get to the point where I'm comfortable playing a 10k table things start to get interesting, not because of opponent skill, but the quality of the cards.

With 160k in my bank I play a two table hold'em sitter where I make it to the final table, short stacked as always and about 60 hands into the game I finally am dealt my first ace. PokerFrauds doesn't track free money table hand histories. How convenient.

So then I play a 10k buy in on my beloved 7-2 lowball draw. What I get is a clueless player that I have to wonder how the fuck he got enough chips to even buy in to the game and a first place finish after massive folding and cautious real poker play.

Now, with the weekend coming up I have almost 200k and I'll betcha the mortgage that when I play a 25k buy in table that the quality of play is still like I was playing on the baby tables.

Except that there are lots of indications the staff is reading this blog and making adjustments.
