The Internet Poker PR Spin Campaign

It's happened to all of us. The bad beat. It's not always a turn or river draw. A lot of times it's a simple matter of being called all-in by someone who doesn't even have a callable hand. And jordankyrka (who should have named himself kordanjerka because he's one of those annoying what until the 14 second warning shows up types that infest PokerStars now)was that person. His opponent had been getting jerked around and was very short stacked and went all in with a respectable hand under those circumstances. Why am I not surprised that the worst hand wins again?

Also, about jerka - I did a search for him and he/she/it was only playing on this table. Ergo, the time usage is just meant to be deliberately annoying.

Flashback to about 5-6 years ago. Poker on the net is immensely popular and people start complaing about bad beats. Google something like Full Tilt rigged yahoo answers. And check the answers left to the chap complaining about the bad beats. Every single one is pro poker site he's an idiot.

Now, thanks to the dedication of strong players like myself and the author of Full Tilt is not random the PR spin people employed by the sites to make such comments as in Yahoo Answers have a much more difficult time defending their case. There's just too much other stuff going on along with the bad beats that is of dubious integruty for a site that's supposedly an interface catering 100% to real people.

And PokerStars is still pulling in 200,000 players at peak times, despite losing the US real money market.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm going to do a test in the near future. PokerStars regularly runs 5,000 player satellites were the prizes are free entry in to a game which offers cash prizes. I wonder.......
