Setting up the VCR...changing computers from my email computer to my PokerStars computer...taking a quick pee break...throwing dinner in the microwave...settling in to the game thankful real life stuff got done before the first hand.
And as I relax, breathe a sigh of relief and can comfortably fold the first hand I get the worst hole hand in Internet Poker. The dreaded pair of kings.
When you combine a pair of kings with some chump bad beat that draws an ace to pair up on the turn or the river with an ace my mouse paused on fold. The lizard "real poker" brain started to kick in with some stupid thoughts about going all in despite the crap during this past week. The rational brain balanced the non-random cards of the past week with the lizard all in and thought about calling.
When my pulse slowed down I finally folded to a hand that would have been a major disappointment.
