There's a New Version of Our Poker Software!

Two nights ago I got the ever friendly message from PokerStars that there was a new version of the software available, and I should click "OK" to install it. The translation is, you must install it or you are not going to get the chance to play. Being a fan of this obviously not rigged game, I of course need my "fix" and download it.

Their crack team of IT experts (them and their dogs and their Asian girlfriends) have identified some bugs that need to be worked out. Me and my dog wonder why after so many months they STILL cannot consistently apply the time bank rules. Worst case scenario on the time bank rules is that it gives an admin time to pop into the table and a rig a hand. Face it, if you could toggle cheat mode and sucked at poker, could you resist the temptation? It sure as hell seems like that's the way it plays out. The extreme variation of the time bank usage which happens far too often is the 5 minute break on a massive multi-table game. Within the first three hands of 5 card draw after a 5 minute break I can almost bet the mortgage on the house that I'll catch a staright that loses to a full house.

Me and my crack team of physicists and Ben and Jerry's junkies (me, Stephen Hawking, Jarah and the dog) have been postulating on these alleged upgrades that do not address the obvious rule breaks.

As a community, PokerStars not a database that sure as hell acts like one appears to play the same way as a whole. I.e., every fixed limit game is raised to the max every time you are on the action. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a preflop raise in hold'em. Someone registers for a 10k buy in table and sits out the whole time. In an effort the several betting algorithms by the not AI on obviously not rigged tables that are obviously not breaking the rules that they are needs to get changed.

The latest variatio (after several hundred hands of investigation) appears to be a return to the simplest and most tried and true cheat out there. Non-random cards, where the real human is met with such ludicrous crap it's simply impossible to win.

Keep it up. I will catch you doing something REALLY stupid.
